A man made a disturbing find in North Knoxville Thursday evening. Hundreds, maybe thousands, of documents with personal information were dumped behind a shopping center.

When a 6 News crew arrived at Fast Cash in a shopping center at 5100 Clinton Highway, they found documents scattered around a dumpster behind the business listing Social Security numbers, names and addresses.

6 News went to Fast Cash Friday to interview a manager named Teresa. She wouldn’t go on camera or give her last name.
“The documents are not current. I put them in the dumpster with the lid down. Homeless people sometimes dig through the dumpsters and must have taken the box out,” Teresa said.
So if you know that homeless people might dig through your dumpster, why don’t you shred?
