Some 50 Irving Independent School District employees have had their identity information stolen. Police are calling the crime a serious case of identity theft.
According to Irving police, detailed information such as social security numbers and birth dates were taken.

According to police, Mercado is one of more than 50 people whose personal information was found in the hands of Sharon Seeley. “All of the identification, that she did have, were related to the [Irving] school district,” explained Irving Police Department Public Information Officer David Tull.
Mercado spent many years volunteering for Irving ISD, while her children were in school.

Irving school district officials say they have no idea how Seeley got to their employees and volunteers records. According to officials, Seeley is not an employee or contractor with the school district.
