An insider breach at Home Depot that I reported last week had reportedly affected 300 employees. But in a letter sent today to the California Attorney General’s Office, lawyers for Home Depot explain that that they are now sending notifications to 1,246 employees and job applicants in California as well as 11 employees in California whose personal information had been misused. This would include all California employees and applicants going back to February 7, 2011, the date of hire for the longest-serving now-arrested employee.
You can read Home Depot’s notification to the state and affected individuals here (pdf). The number being notified nationally has not yet been disclosed.
Update: Their report to the New Hampshire Attorney General’s Office indicates that 77 NH residents were notified the week of February 10.
