The cyberattack reported by CommonSpirit last year has reportedly cost the firm $150 million already. From their unaudited quarterly report:
The Cyber security Incident has had an estimated adverse financial impact of approximately $150 million to date,
which includes lost revenues from the associated business interruption, the costs incurred to remediate the issues and other related business expenses, and is exclusive of any potential insurance related recoveries. We have notified and
continue to consult with our insurance carriers, but are unable to predict the timing or amount of insurance recoveries
at this time.
It would be helpful to see a more detailed breakdown of those costs. And they still haven’t responded to this site’s questions as to whether they paid ransom or not.
