Confidential papers which were discovered in a street in Gorleston were stolen during a burglary of an NHS building, police enquiries have revealed.
A number of items of post, which included one pack of police referrals to Children’s Services, were stolen from a letter box at the Newberry Clinic in Lowestoft Road following a mail delivery on Saturday morning.
The sensitive documents gave ages, addresses and telephone numbers of named individuals and the offences they had committed – including rape and assault.
It is thought the papers were discarded in the grounds of the clinic. Police were alerted by members of the public on Sunday morning, who had found some of the papers which had blown into the road.
