Note: this is an update to a breach we reported here last month and that occurred last summer. In addition to the Florida story below, Wyndham reported to NYS that the breach affected 8,787 NYS residents (report not yet available online).
Attorney General Bill McCollum is asking Floridians to monitor their credit statements to ensure their personal information is not compromised as a result of an ID breach at Wyndham Hotels & Resorts.
The data compromise was caught and disabled but may have affected up to 21,000 Florida residents. Wyndham contacted affected consumers in December and notified them that unauthorized access to Wyndham systems had potentially compromised the personal data on their debit and credit cards. At this time, Wyndham believes no criminal identity theft related to this has been identified.
