Philip Irwin of The Glamorgan Gem reports:
The Vale Council children’s services department has been hit by another storm of protest, after a memory stick containing child protection details was found in the street outside the council offices.
It has been reported that the memory stick also allegedly contained details of court cases and of medical records.
In a bizarre coincidence, the finder of the stick recognised the name of a male acquaintance, and there were details of how the man had been accused of child abuse, and then later cleared. (So I’m guessing that these data were not encrypted – Dissent)
It was reported that the stick had been lost in February, although details of the loss and the subsequent events have only just emerged.
