The North Carolina Dept. of Motor Vehicles is reporting that at least 13 people who used the Carrboro office between July 1, 2008 and April 6, 2009 may have had their personal information stolen — “names, addresses, telephone numbers, dates of birth, driver license numbers, Social Security numbers and possible medical information could have been compromised.”
According to WTDV, the DMV hasn’t explained how the breach occurred or who may have been responsible.
