The HSE has been blamed for giving the names of dead women to a high profile cancer research project, an Argus investigation can reveal.
The research, which is being funded by the Irish Cancer Society, and conducted by academics at DCU’s School of Nursing, has been ongoing for a number of months.
The names of the women were given to DCU by the physiotherapy department at Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital in Drogheda.
The university, the HSE and the Irish Cancer Society said they were not aware that the research packs were being sent to the families of dead women until they were contacted by the Argus.
