Three metro Atlanta residents have been indicted on bank fraud conspiracy and identity theft charges for allegedly stealing Wachvoia Bank account numbers and draining thousands of dollars from the accounts.
Yolanda Denise Scott, 31, of Hampton, Ga., and Germaine Monroe, 57, of Atlanta, have made initial appearances in court. A third defendant charged in the same indictment, Schnikia Scruggs, 37, of Duluth, Ga., is now scheduled to make her initial appearance before a U.S. Magistrate Judge on Aug. 14.
Scott worked in the exceptions department of Wachovia Bank in Atlanta and had access to customer account information, including account numbers, signature cards, related accounts, and personal identifying information of the account holders.
