Doctors in the county have supported proposals to allow the public to view and amend their medical records online.
The suggestion, put forward by the Conservatives this week, is part of plans to give patients more control over their individual records.
Patients would be able to log in online to access their records, add details and share experiences with other patients.
It would also provide a resource for those who have to monitor conditions on a daily basis, who could record their findings to produce a detailed record for their doctor.
