As a follow-up to a case covered previously:
A hospital worker who admitted to stealing about 20 patient records a week out of Saint Anthony Hospital to give them to a convicted counterfeiter was sentenced on Monday to four years in the Department of Corrections.
Dawn Philbin, 51, reached a plea deal in Denver County Court. She pleaded guilty to one count of theft of medical records and one count of ID theft. She was sentenced to 18 months on the first count and four years on the second, the sentences will run concurrently.
According to arrest warrants, Philbin confessed to taking the patient hospital records over a year and a half and gave them to 46-year-old Paul Simmons.
