It seems like we were just talking about paper breaches and ID theft. Oh yeah, we were. Here’s another case from WFTV News today:
A Seminole County man was arrested Wednesday night for allegedly stealing mail and using that information to make fake I.D.s and checks. Florida Department of Law Enforcement (FDLE) agents arrested Leonard Malone on 53 counts of racketeering and identity theft.
In June, Malone’s house was raided and piles of evidence were taken into custody.
Investigators say it was a big and sophisticated operation. They say one of the largest and most sophisticated in recent memory.
Officers say Leonard Malone and a ring of about six assistants stole the identities of hundreds of people.
