- Clyde Austin Gray Jr., described as the ringleader of a nationwide identity theft ring that also victimized Federal Reserve Chairman Ben Bernanke’s wife, was sentenced to more than 11 years in prison and ordered to pay more than $1.4 million in restitution. More.
- Lori L. Barb was charged with ID theft and forgery. Barb, who was employed by an unnamed Elizabethton, Tennessee credit union, allegedly used customers’ credit card numbers and forged customers’ names to make withdrawals from their accounts. At least two customers had their information misused. More.
- Bria Danielle Morris was sentenced to nearly seven years Friday for stealing the identity of someone she met at a women’s shelter and using it to rip off a charity, businesses and people. More.
