A recent security breach at Shands HealthCare has compromised the personal health information of several thousand individuals, hospital officials confirmed Thursday.
Shands spokeswoman Kim Rose confirmed the breach but declined to provide specifics.

People affected by this breach will receive a letter next week with information, and the news media also will be given more details at that time, according to the statement.
