Okay, we know that law enforcement will seize merchandise purchased with stolen credit cards or obtained fraudulently. But this is the first ID theft case I’ve ever heard of where they seized a puppy.
George Warren reports that a Yorkshire terrier puppy named “Treasure” was seized as part of the proceeds of an ID theft ring allegedly involving Mia Garza. Garza is accused of stealing a spreadsheet with personal information on 29,500 Kaiser employees when she worked for the United Healthcare Workers Union.
At least the puppy didn’t wind up in the evidence room. It was returned to the puppy broker.
