Some credit cards swiped recently at the Mad Capper have been swiped by hackers who’ve racked up charges on those cards from Indiana to Russia.
Jeff Chilson, owner of the Mad Capper, said that people who have been at the downtown Stillwater bar/restaurant in the last month should check their credit card or debit card statements to make sure they are correct.
“Our network wasn’t secured and someone hacked into the computer system,” he said. “People’s card numbers were compromised. The moment I heard about this we got the system and network secured here so it will not happen again.”
