Natalie Geddes reports:
A pharmacist in Melville allegedly broke the law when he looked up the medication records of three people who weren’t even clients.
A manager at L & M Pharmacy, Daryl Leshko say the man looked up the records because he was concerned for the well being of a personal acquaintance.
The breach was the focus of the latest investigation by the privacy commissioner. Gary Dickson says some of the findings are pretty concerning.
The pharmacist turned out to be a former president of the college of pharmacists and the place he worked didn’t have any of the proper policies or procedures to keep records from being abused.
