On March 9, Brian Krebs broke the news that Monoprice had shut down its web site while it was investigating the possible compromise of customer credit and debit card information.
On April 2, Monoprice’s President and CEO Jong S. Lee notified the New Hampshire Attorney General’s Office that on March 29, it determined that its server had, in fact, been compromised and that customer data including names, addresses, telephone numbers, and credit card numbers had been acquired. Customers who placed orders on the web site between February 23 and March 5 were potentially affected.
The breach affected 146 New Hampshire residents, but the total number of affected customers was not indicated in the notification.
