People who enjoyed a day at Goldstream Provincial Park this month are now at risk of credit card fraud.
A parking ticket dispenser closest to the entrance of Goldstream park was vandalized between April 17 and 18. The electronic storage device that records credit card information was stolen.
The machine hadn’t been downloaded since April 1 and anyone visiting the park from that date until April 18 is at risk, said West Shore RCMP Const. Julie Chanin.
B.C. Parks is working with RCMP on the investigation. The Ministry of the Environment said about 150 credit card transactions were likely on the machine, based on past use. The ministry said the machine holds credit card numbers, but not names.
