An alleged hacker has broken the terms of a gagging order to speak out about his arrest and prosecution in an extraordinary rant on his group’s website.
Last month, hackers exposed an embarrassing security flaw affecting iPad customers on AT&T, causing red faces all round at the telecoms provider. Shortly after the highly-publicized security breach, the FBI raided the home of one of the alleged hackers and subsequently arrested him on charges for drug possession. It now appears that, despite being subject to a gagging order preventing him from speaking about the case, 24 year old Andrew Auernheimer (aka ‘Weev’), has published a long screed on his group’s site deriding what he considers to be unfair – and possibly unconstitutional – treatment at the hands of the authorities.
