Kirti Dargan got the shock of her life when she Googled her name on Friday. Kirti, a student of Moti Lal Nehru college, found her personal details, including her residential address, email ID, and mobile number listed online, for everyone to see. How did the 19-year-old land in such a pickle? Kirti had applied as a Delhi University volunteer for The Commonwealth Games in May. Now, the university has published the personal details of all the volunteers on the website, without any security or privacy measures.
“Thanks to DU’s carelessness, my cell number is available to everyone. I could be prone to all kinds of prank calls now,” says Kirti.
