One in three Spanish hospitals are in breach of the Data Protection behave, disturbing research has revealed.
Some 30 per cent of public hospitals have no measures in place to prevent the loss of, or unauthorised access to, patients’ data during transport or whilst filed.
A further 40 per cent of state hospitals, and 15 per cent of private ones, have no register to record access to clinical files, and 45 per cent do not include the standard legal wording on their forms which explains how and why patients’ data is stored.
Only a third of state hospitals carry out any kind of security audit on their files.
