A company that managed a residential facility for court-mandated drug treatment is being sued for allegedly violating the privacy of its female residents by videotaping them and distributing the material as a promotional DVD.
According to the lawsuit filed last week in Dallas County, residents were told that the video taped in January 2009 would be seen only by the judges who ordered defendants there. The suit claims that the DVD was instead used to raise money for the program and obtain contracts for other treatment facilities.
