This seems like a second skimming incident involving a RaceTrac gas station in Florida, as the street address is different than that reported in a previous skimming incident. Paul Mice reports:
A few thousand Seacoast National Bank customers have received new credit or debit cards in recent weeks because a handful of them were victims of a “skimming” incident at a Racetrac gas station.
Both the St. Lucie County Sheriff’s Office and the Fort Pierce Police Department have been investigating the case that began when a few people noticed fraudulent charges on their bank statements from Seacoast and TD Bank. Some of the fraud victims were Treasure Coast residents, but others were people who had been traveling through the area.
St. Lucie County investigators recovered a skimmer device that had been installed in a fuel pump in a Racetrac on the busy stretch of Okeechobee Road between Interstate 95 and Florida’s Turnpike, according to Fort Pierce Police spokesman Dennis McWilliams.
