I, along with several people I work with and friends, have had our credit card numbers compromised and used for online purchases in other states.
The cards themselves were not stolen, but the numbers were used. I’m just curious if this is a widespread problem in Muscatine. I called the police to report it and they acted like they didn’t really care if I reported it or not.
They wouldn’t give out information on whether they have received a lot of calls about this.
I only had $5 charged fraudulently and with the police department’s abrupt and uncaring attitude, I didn’t file a report.
With the number of people this has happened to locally, there had to have been a Muscatine business that was compromised.

Okay, you may be thinking, this is not a huge story. You’re right. It’s not. But it’s the kind of thing I note so that if more reports start coming in, I’ll have this in my blog to refer back to. Now back to our regularly scheduled programming…
