I don’t cite them all on this blog, but there have been a lot of low-tech identity theft/fraud cases in the news in recent months. Here’s another example:
A Silverdale man has been charged with second-degree identity theft as part of a scheme in which investigators claim he stole thousands of dollars, according to documents filed in Kitsap County District Court.
Kitsap County Sheriff’s detectives believe Lance J. West, 30, collected personal information on more than 30 people and used it to withdraw money from a woman’s bank account.

Detectives obtained a warrant Wednesday to search a home on Highland Court in Silverdale where they believe West lives. They found documents, credit cards, mail, IDs, Social Security cards and tax forms belonging to at least 30 different people. Four laptops and a printer and check stock were also found.
West was booked into the Kitsap County jail on $100,000 bail.
