Mansfield News Journal in Ohio reports:
Area Agency on Aging serving several area counties said today that a laptop containing personal health information of thousands of clients was stolen two weeks ago from a vehicle.
According to a press release from the Ohio District 5 office, the computer was assigned to a PASSPORT case manager and held health information of up to 43,000 citizens and personal contact information of up to 35,000 additional individuals.
The June 17th press release indicates that the laptop was stolen on June 3. The 35,000 additional individuals are described as “35,000 related clients’ personal representatives.” The exact types of PHI are not indicated in the release.
