Reports of entities affected by the Futurity First Insurance Group breach continue to emerge. In addition to the previous update, the latest update to the HHS breach tool reveals that American Continental Insurance Company in Tennessee had 690 of their members affected. That now brings the known total for the breach to over 7,500.
Keep in mind that I am referring to this as the Futurity breach because we do not know the name of the vendor from whom the drive was stolen. Nor do we know how the drive was stolen. Was there a burglary at the vendor’s or was the drive stolen from a car or what?
