Richard Cuthbertson reports that the Calgary Board of Education has had a second breach this month. I had missed the first one, I think. This latest one happened October 5th after an employee left a laptop containing the report cards of more than 2,000 students in a car. The laptop was stolen.
Kindergarten to Grade 9 student reports included names and photos, along with CBE and Alberta Education student numbers. High school reports included home addresses and phone numbers.
The first breach was discovered two days earlier, when “school officials pulled down trustee expense claims and receipts from the CBE website because they contained unredacted personal information, including one credit card number.”
