In the aftermath of the WINZ breach, the NZ government has been reviewing all its systems. In the process, they discovered that the Ministry of Justice kiosks had a similar issue as the MSD Work and Income kiosks. The New Zealand Herald reports:
The affected kiosks included three computers at the ministry’s national office, which were used to print visitors’ passes, as well as kiosks at the Maori Land Court, which allowed visitors to access a database.
The ministry told One News it was confident no private information had been accessed.
Did KPMG audit those systems, too, in February? I’m wondering if we’ll see some statement eventually about the audits that had been run and why these long-standing problems were apparently not detected by the govt or its contractors.
