Western Connecticut State University is notifying 235,000 people their records, including social security numbers and other personal information, were insecure on its computers for three years and four months. WCSU said it has found no evidence that records were inappropriately accessed. Read about it on Danbury Patch. WCSU also has a web page with info on the breach, here.
In Ohio, the Cuyahoga County Board of Developmental Disabilities has notified 613 clients that their names and birthdates may have been on the hard drive of a laptop stolen from an employee’s car in North Royalton. Read about it on 5ABC. I don’t see any notice on the county’s web site at this time.
First Security Insurance in Hickory, NC discovered that a “substantial amount of money” had been electronically wired out of one of the business’ bank accounts to a Chinese bank with offices in New York City. Read more here.
