I see that HHS’s breach tool has been made more user-friendly by providing some filters:
That’s good to see, although it seems that they’re no longer showing a counter on that page, and as of last week, that counter showed 804 while the .csv file showed 792. I was aware that there were some duplicates in the database, but I’m not sure they fully account for the discrepancy.
In any event, we still don’t know how many other breach reports HHS has received that have not been posted/updated to the tool, and for the vast majority of incidents, there are no summaries to provide us with details on the breaches. Nor has HHS produced the federally mandated annual reports other than its first report.
We still have a long way to go, it seems, but I appreciate their recent efforts to add more to the breach tool.
