An official with the Pee Dee Regional Transportation Authority confirmed there was a data breach discovered late last week that exposed the personal information of about 50 current and former employees.
Chuck MacNeil, executive director of the PDRTA, said letters were mailed Friday to those affected once the security breach was discovered and promptly fixed.
“We have researched what documents could have possibly been accessed through the breach and have identified that among them was contained your name and Social Security number,” MacNeil said in the letter. “To our knowledge no information has been used to your detriment.”
