Brett Kelman reports that College of the Desert has had a second breach this month, this one involving student financial information. The college says that less than 10 students were affected by what it describes as a “possible data security breach.” Approximately 1900 employees were affected by an earlier breach this month.
COD officials on Thursday did not explain how the student’s private information was released.
However, three people who contacted the Desert Sun newsroom said students’ private information had been swapped in letters or e-mails that were sent out by the financial aid office.
