Well, I wasn’t going to post anything about this hack because it didn’t seem any personal information was involved, but now it seems that there was personal info involved, so….

A highly sophisticated cyberattack against Canada’s National Research Council infiltrated a system that contained personal information, the privacy commissioner’s office said Thursday.
Canadian officials have put the blame on the attack on the Chinese government.The privacy commissioner was first informed of a security breach on July 23 and was told on Monday that the personal data was in fact exposed.
A spokesperson for the ministry told CTV News that while the attack is a “serious security issue,” the full extent of the breach is not yet known.
