The Touchstone Medical Imaging breach has been added to HHS’s public breach tool, and it’s larger than than you might have thought: 307,528 patients were affected by the incident that inadvertently shared a folder with patient billing information.
Although the breach was discovered on May 9 and affected patient billing records related to dates prior to August 2012, Touchstone did not disclose for how long the folder was exposed. Was it exposed from August 2012 until May 2014, or was it only recently exposed, or…?
