AP reports that a North Dakota man from Nigeria who was here on a student visa and who had been charged in October with multiple crimes, has pleaded guilty:
Chude Umeh, of Fargo, is charged with more than a dozen counts, including conspiracy, bank fraud, mail fraud, and aggravated identity theft. He pleaded guilty to a half-dozen counts.

Authorities say Umeh and others also filed false federal income tax returns with stolen identifies. The refunds allegedly were directed to Umeh’s bank account.
A Google search indicates that Umeh had previously pleaded guilty to shoplifting in 2009. He was enrolled at North Dakota State University in 2011 as a graduate student after receiving his Bachelor of Science in Construction Engineering from the university in May, 2010.
