The Topeka Capital-Journal reports that Todd M. Newbrough, a former Army private stationed at Fort Riley, has been charged in federal court in Topeka with with four counts of wire fraud, four counts of bank fraud, four counts of aggravated identity theft and one count of computer fraud.
The indictment alleges that Newbrough used personal identity information of fellow soldiers to obtain credit cards and other lines of credit in their names from 2011 through 2015 while he was at Fort Riley. Grissom said Newbrough was able to access the personal data through his access to leave and earnings statements and other military records.
