Brunswick police are investigating reports of stolen credit card information that may be linked to a cafe in that city, according to Chief Milt Frech.
At least four people contacted the Brunswick Police Department in mid-June to report that their credit cards had been compromised. For three people, “the common thread is that the victims were at Beans in the Belfry,” Frech said, referring to the church-turned-cafe on West Potomac Street.

The Brunswick restaurant learned Wednesday its point-of-sale system was breached by a malware known as PoSeideon, a variation of the malware that targeted Home Depot and Target, according to Hanna Politis, the business’s co-owner and events coordinator.
