NC: Hair meant for donations to kids with cancer found in dumpster with donors’ info (updated)

Posted on September 9, 2015 by Dissent

The Gaston Gazette reports that hair donated to support Wigs for Kids, a charity in Ohio supporting kids battling cancer, was tossed out in North Carolina – along with the donors’ personal information:

Some customers who got their hair cut for charity at a Great Clips in Gastonia are upset that their donations and their personal information were thrown out in a dumpster.

The bags of hair also had labels with donors’ names, addresses and phone numbers.

Someone reportedly found them in a dumpster behind the Great Clips hair salon at Franklin Square shopping center.

Read more on Gaston Gazette.

I’m not sure how you can ever adequately explain this one.

Update: In response to the incident, Great Clips officials said Wednesday they will donate $5,000 to Wigs for Kids.
