A 50-year-old Guernsey Border Agency officer has pleaded guilty to data protection law offences.
Appearing before magistrates, Matthew Walsh admitted four charges, two of intent to secure unauthorised access to data on a government computer and two charges of disclosing personal data without consent.
He was granted unconditional bail and is due to be sentenced at Guernsey Magistrates Court on 19th November.
And that’s all they wrote. I can find no previous coverage via a Google search, so I have no idea what the motivation may have been or when and how often this may have occurred. Maybe when he’s sentenced, the media will provide some background on the case?
