An Albuquerque man said he found hundreds of medical records dumped on the West Mesa. The medical records include people’s addresses, insurance information and social security numbers.
The business responsible for them said it has no idea how the paperwork ended up there.
Things at Cottonwood Comfort Dental in Albuquerque weren’t so comfortable on Friday after a resident who wants to remain anonymous said he found some of the business’s confidential patient information dumped along the mesa.
Read more on KRQE. The dental practice is investigating and claims that they take their records to an as-yet-unnamed shredding service. Hopefully KRQE will follow up on their reporting.
This is not the first time a Comfort Dental practice has had their name associated with a breach involving patient records, as a search of this site indicates. Comfort Dental is a franchise operation with locations in 13 states.
