There has reportedly been a burglary at a lawyer’s office where the target may have been sensitive information on human rights cases. ABColombia reports:
The lawyers office of the Centre for the Studies for Social Justice –Tierra Digna’s was broken into during the night of the 19 January 2016 and a laptop containing sensitive information pertaining to human rights cases was stolen. It is notable that this was the only item stolen despite the robbers having access to the rest of the office.
There’s no mention of whether the data were encrypted, but from the tone of ABColombia’s report of the incident, it sounds like the stolen information might put personal safety at risk, suggesting that it wasn’t encrypted.
