Cambridge News reports:
Patients have been warned of a potential breach of their data after a nurse’s car was broken into and her handbag stolen.
An out of hours car, used by a community nurse with Cambridgeshire and Peterborough NHS Foundation Trust (CPFT), was broken into on July 9 while parked outside a patient’s home in east Chesterton at 11.50pm.
The trust has now written to all 200 patients affected after the nurse’s bag contained her diary of names and addresses of patients requiring visits over the last six months along with some access details.
In a letter to patients, the mental health and community services trust, said for those patients whose access details were contained in the diary they have had “verbal contact to discuss staying safe.”
