A former Union County insurance agent has been accused of receiving more than $6,000 in illegal commissions by stealing the identities of former clients and fraudulently applying for new life insurance policies with another company, Attorney General Christopher S. Porrino said Friday in a news release.
After leaving American Income and taking a similar position with American Memorial Life Insurance Company, Marta Cristina Cunha, 36, of Union Township allegedly used the personal information of her former clients and applied for new policies for those individuals with American Memorial without their permission, prosecutors said.
