ABC23 reports:
Fast Health in Tehachapi is reporting a security breach that could affect over 700 of their patients.
The business says a third-party altered a code on their server, stealing the credit card information of close to 700 customers who paid bills online from January 14, 2016 to December 20, 2016.
Medical information was reportedly not taken, and Fast Health says they will send letters to any patients who were affected.
The Tehachapi News adds another wrinkle/detail to the reporting, noting that the 714 affected patients are those from Tehachapi Valley Healthcare District and Adventist Health who used the vendor’s site to pay their bills online. Adventist Health was alerted to the breach on May 9.
