ABC7 News has learned that the computers of the Asian Art Museum in San Francisco were hacked in a Ransomware attack in May. The museum’s system was restored but there are still some unanswered questions.

They do report that the museum didn’t pay any ransom, but the museum wouldn’t indicate how much ransom was ever demanded — or what kind of ransomware it was, and whether any data was irretrievably corrupted or lost. Nor do they report how the attackers were able to insert it.
