The ambulance service in Wrocław fell victim to a hacking attack, during which the system responsible for supporting the work of dispatchers was violated. The reports of the incident so far indicate that it was a ransomware campaign.
Hospital staff was informed about a hacking attack on the facility’s systems. In connection with the incident, ambulance workers were asked to create accounts in the Credit Information Bureau in order to minimize the risk of using their data to take out loans in the future, informs Gazeta Wrocławska.
The cyberattack took place on December 12 this year, but the authorities of the facility did not provide any specific information about the incident for reasons of security of the proceedings currently conducted by the prosecutor’s office.
