Domino’s India has clarified that the financial information of any customer was not leaked. In addition, they also stated that the breach has not affected any operations or business in any way. “Jubilant FoodWorks experienced an information security incident recently. No data pertaining to the financial information of any person was accessed and the incident has not resulted in any operational or business impact. As a policy we do not store financial details or credit card data of our customers, thus no such information has been compromised. The firm’s statement directly contradicts claims by the hacker that credit card details were acquired and are available for sale.
DataBreaches.net will update this incident if more information becomes available, but notes that just because someone sees a listing on a forum and tweets it, it doesn’t make the claim more credible. A number of security firms or researchers jump to tweet about listings they see on popular forums where data is traded or sold, but they often do not wait to get confirmation or a response from the allegedly breached entity — and they often do not do their own investigation into the accuracy of any claims.
So were real credit card details involved in this breach? DataBreaches.net does not know at this time.
